ReStory FAQ: demo, controller, mods, codes & Steam Deck

“Not listed” is deliberately different from “unsupported forever.” It reports what the official store exposes today and avoids turning missing metadata into a permanent claim.

ReStory story overview (spoiler-light)

The official Steam premise places ReStory in a small electronics repair shop in mid-2000s Tokyo. You restore nostalgic Y2K-era devices while customer relationships and choices can branch into different story outcomes. That is enough to answer what the ReStory story is about without turning this FAQ into an ending guide: the site does not reproduce endings, hidden routes or unverified plot details. Demo status

ReStory has a separate free Windows demo. Its official page describes the core experience: running an electronics repair shop in mid-2000s Tokyo, restoring nostalgic devices, buying spare parts, managing finances and making customer choices that affect branching stories. The demo is useful for checking the interface and performance on a specific PC, but the official pages do not promise that demo saves transfer to the full game.

Controller and Steam Deck

Neither checked Steam listing exposes a controller-support category. This guide therefore does not claim full, partial or model-specific controller support. A controller might be detected in a build, but individual reports are not enough to change the official status without a store tag or developer statement.

No Deck Verified, Playable or Unsupported rating was confirmed. Windows and macOS store support and the absence of a controller tag mean Deck buyers should wait for Valve’s compatibility panel or test the free demo themselves, without treating either result as an official rating.

Codes, multiplayer and achievements

The official pages do not describe a gift-code field, redemption menu or active codes. We do not publish invented strings just to fill a codes page. Any future code should link to the developer’s announcement and a real redemption path.

Steam lists single-player only. It does not list co-op, online multiplayer or PvP. The official page now lists a Steam Achievements category and Steam Cloud support; the store page does not publish an achievement count.

Mods status

If you searched for ReStory mods, the official answer is that no mod support or mods have been announced by developer Mandragora or publisher tinyBuild as of the last check. This site therefore does not list, rank or link third-party mod downloads — such files are not verified and can be incompatible or unsafe. If official mod support is ever confirmed, this page will say so with a source and a link to the official channel.

Languages and price

The full game lists English, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian and Simplified Chinese. The demo language table is slightly different and did not list Korean when checked; test the exact build instead of assuming both lists match.

The US Steam store lists a $19.99 base price with a 10% introductory discount to $17.99 that ends August 21, 2026 (rechecked August 12, 2026). Regional Steam pricing can differ, so the local store page is the reliable purchase reference.

Post-release checks

1. Confirm the price in the local Steam region.
2. Check whether controller metadata has been added.
3. Inspect Valve’s Steam Deck compatibility panel.
4. Recheck the achievement list and demo save-transfer information.
5. Verify codes only with an official announcement and an actual redemption screen.
